Building a lake house is always an exciting prospect, but it come with many design challenges. For all lake projects, a Shoreland Permit is required that has extremely stringent requirements. For Val and Maria's property, the home was designed within inches of the setbacks on all side. They also had to remove a large granite boulder and the design had to work around demolishing the existing house, but saving the existing garage. The new house was designed so that it could be joined to the existing garage. Val and Maria comment on the process of building their dream lake house on Lake Winnipesaukee.
